Fat, Old AND Bald?

Day 2.
No word from Joey. I'm starting to hear from people who think that "bald is in." They're saying "Go for it" even when I remind them how I looked the last time I got happy with the Wahl clippers.

This photo was taken 5 years ago at the Volcano House on the big island of Hawaii. The steam vents were clouding up my Armanis. The face is now a bit fatter and the moustache is mostly gray. I'm looking old.

Let's just try this all in a sentence:
Have you seen Jim lately? He's looking very fat, old and bald.

Sorry. That doesn't work for me. I haven't given up on finding Joey because I'd rather hear "Oh look! There's that fat, old Jim with the great haircut."

HELP ME!

Nothing more depressing than losing your stylist. That's why I haven't gotten a haircut since February. Good luck finding him (or **shudder** a new person).

Okay, I just have to say that TRULY a shaved head is in style and looks great. Look around next time you go out and you'll be surprised at how many guys shave their heads. I think it looks nice, and especially in the case of people who are balding (which I don't think you are; I'm talking about other guys). I don't just say this because my husband is going through chemotherapy--really! I like the look. And I like the look ON YOU.

However--I do understand the trauma of losing a hair stylist. My person had her lung collapse or some such inconvenience and one day she simply stopped answering her phone at work. (She works alone.) And she wasn't there. For weeks. The panic started after a couple days or no answer, and it slowly rose like something backing up in my throat. All around town, we who go to Carol were asking around for her like it was some sort of drug deal or something.

I actually had to go to someone else because she was out for months. And you know what? It was all right, though I really worried.

Re: the gray mustache--my advice: get rid of it. If Macario shaved his mustache he'd look 15 years younger, but it's not even open for discussion.

You men.

I've been thinking about the mustache. I've had it all my life so it's been a permanent fixture. I don't want to bother with coloring it so I guess I'll have to cut it.

It'll be a private ceremony.

The head shaving won't happen any time soon. It's so extreme.

So how do you like the upper lip???

It feels strange when I exhale through my nose.

Thanks for asking!
